For the longest time I’ve wanted to start a section on the blog for “beautiful objects”. The point would be to showcase beautiful objects I find while shopping, or that stuff I find in other people’s homes (if you have a beautiful object you want to share, just send me an email).
We are flooded with objects, things are thrown at our eyes, so much at once for anything to really stick. My aim with the “beautiful objects” is to give beauty the moment in the spotlight it deserves — if so only for a second — and one object at a time. (You could of course cheat and wait until I have collected a whole bunch of posts and view them all at the same time. But that would just be plain wrong, you greedy bastard).
The first object up for admiration are my beautiful tea cups (yeah I know they are two, but since it’s the same object it counts as one, smartass). The cups are not vintage or unique, I haven’t inherited them from a rich uncle, or even stolen them from my grandmother. In fact, they’re mass produced in a huge factory is some polluted part of China. But that’s not the point. The point is they are still so charming that they have become the favorite tea cups in this house.
Where I bought them? Anthropologie of course, the hipster tribe´s own Crate&Barrel (Oh! Anthropologie, how I love you).
