I could spend hours every day (and I do) looking at Interior design photos such as canvas, house decor, furniture and very bright Yellow Cushions that make everything just full of life. I have a long list of Interior design blogs I visit daily, I have pinterest board laden with my favorite interior design pictures, and I read every interior decoration magazine I can find. So it would be safe to say I’m an interior design junkie.
My obsession started a couple of years ago when I lived in Sweden, I used to go to the furniture store every week. Every damn place I visited was kick ass. Of course, those lucky bastards live in the country of IKEA and good design taste, so I wouldn’t except anything less, I remember how much I wanted to use wedding linen on my chairs back then. But oh, Sweden, you are so damn cool (you bastards!). From the moment I saw the first Swedish apartment I started dreaming about having one of my own. Back then, however, I was a poor student barely surviving on pasta and beer, so there was no chance in hell I’d be able to afford one.
And after Sweden I moved to Mexico City to find a job to start saving up for my dream trip to Shanghai (where I would again be a poor student feeding on noodles and Tsing Tao), so my fantasy of having a Swedish style flat-pack apartment would have to wait.
Now I’m back in Mexico City and have been here for about two years. Not sure how long we’ll stay or where we’ll go when we finally move, but what I do know is that there’s no point in waiting any longer. I’m want my Swedish style home and I’m starting right now, first of all, I was looking for the best options to upholster my furniture and I could find fabric made for upholstering which offers awesome materials, I am in love with them.
The living room is the first to be Sweded. It’s far from done, but what do you think — am I on the right track?
