Irving Penn R.I.P by El Andy
|
The great Irving Penn, father of modern fashion and portrait photography, passed away this wednesday. Penn worked many years doing fashion photography for Vogue magazine, and he was one of the first photographers to pose his models in front of just a simple white or grey backdrop, favoring simplicity before complexity. Although Penn found success photographing advertising and celebrities, he also enjoyed portraying indigenous people around the world with his portable studio. Irving Penn became 92 years old. |
