Big news, we finally have Nars in Mexico!

Last week I was invited to the Nars presentation where James Boehmer, the Nars Director of Global Artistry, told us everything about the next Nars launch, which will be in stores from october 15th. Nars is now available in Mexican Saks Fifth Avenue, and from october 21 at the new Sephora Mexico.

Vogue Fashion`s Night Out Mexico — The glasses

Finally, last thursday Mexico celebrated its very first Vogue Fashion`s Night Out. If you don`t know what I`m talking about, let me give you a quick explanation. In 2009 when the american economy was going to hell and everyone was afraid of spending money, Vogue USA, lead by Anna Wintour, had the idea to create a Fashion event to encourage people to shop again. After two years FNO has become one of the most anticipated fashion events in cities around the world. And now, finally, Mexico City has joined.

Since Mexico is so big, the Mexican Vogue team split up the event in different shopping centers. I just went to the Antara mall. Some stores were really crowded, like Zara, Marc Jacobs, and Bennetton. I guess that’s a sign that it went well.

Me I just took it easy, I snapped these pics and drank non-alcoholic drinks. The best part: the company of my fellow friends and bloggers (Ceci, Valeria, Botica, Chamberto, Juanito, and El Vikingo) The worst part: no enough discounts and not enough drinks to make me use my credit card.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2011

It´s time to think about the fall season. Summer sales have already started, and that means two things: it’s time to shop, and it’s time start dreaming.

Like every season, Marc Jacobs’ creations gets my mind going. I’ve been a fan of the Marc by Marc collection for ever, but this time I actually preferred the Marc Jacobs collection. Perhaps because it’s full of my favorite pattern, polka dots. Marc’s collections will be hitting the stores soon, so go and take a look, and if you can, buy everything. But if you are like like me and can’t afford anything, use it for inspiration.

And don´t forget to include something gold, brown, and firebrick in you wardrobe this fall.

ELLE México Diseña 2011 – Gran Final

Of almost 2000 designs only 12 make it to the finale of the 5th edition of ELLE México Diseña. The theme this year was what a woman would wear the last night of the year 2099. So the designers had to be visionary, and predict the future — what a difficult challenge!

Have you ever imagined what the clothes of the future will look like? Me, I think we’ll be wearing masks and some kind of space suits to protect us from the pollution. OK, that might be a tad fatalistic, plus, in 2099 I’m pretty sure I’ll already be dead

Anyway, take a look of the 12 following garments. One of them belongs to the young designer which will be the next Elle México Diseña talent, who will win a scholarship to continue his/her studies in Europe.

Next Tuesday we’ll find out who’s the winner of The 5th edition of ELLE México Diseña. If you happen to be in México, turn your tv on E! Entertainment television on tuesday 21 at 21:00 pm, and see if your favorite garment won.

ELLE México Diseña 2011 – La Antigua, Veracruz

In the previous post I promised I would tell you more about the ELLE México Diseña experience. Well, that was a week ago, and here is where I complain about how little free time I have right now and how much I have to do.

Anyway, let me share some photos from the Brunch at La Antigua, Veracruz. All the guest wore white. It was beautiful, but let me tell you — it was hot as hell. The sweat dripped down my legs and I wanted to faint. But then, after drinking a “Torito de coco”, the world became a better place.

ELLE México Diseña 2011. Boca del Río, Veracruz

Two weeks ago I woke up and followed my daily routine. Half asleep, half awake I turned on my computer, opened my e-mail and I found an invitation to the 5th edition of ELLE México Diseña, in Veracruz (ELLE México Diseña is the platform to find young design talent). I couldn´t believe it. It sounded too good to be true. But … it was true. And so on June 3rd I found myself in Veracruz sipping on cocktails together with my friends and partners, Botica Pop and Guapologa.

It started at Casa de la Condesa de Malibrán, a perfect space perfect for a wedding. At least that’s what more than one girl told me. And between drinking, meeting new people, and taking pictures, we all were waiting for the important jury to come out and score the 12 garments competing for the grand prize.

I was looking forward to seeing the jury, especially the stunning Isabeli Fontana and the Dsquared2 twins, Dan and Dean Caten. The other other jury members were the photographer Santiago Sierra, ELLE´s Editor in Chief, MariPaz Ocejo, ELLE´s Executive Editor, Sara Galindo, and the fashion director of El Palacio de Hierro, Covadonga Blanco.

The night went by too fast, and suddenly we were heading back to our hotel, tired but happy.

Taking pictures in the night with the wrong lens is difficult, but I tried my best. Enjoy.
